Kumo

It's good...at least that's how I'd describe it. The service was very friendly, so that was a plus. They included several tasty special rolls, which are often not offered at other AYCE establishments. The minus was the overly-generous amount of rice they use in the AYCE sushi (you can see this in the attached photo). If you usually eat 3 full platters, you will barely finish one. The fish was nice - it may not have been caught this morning but I think it tasted just fine. FYI - they add 18% gratuity to any AYCE bill, even if there's just one of you. I really liked the little oriental outfits that the beer bottles wore (see pic). I also enjoyed the intimate candle-lit atmosphere.
Bathrooms were almost clean enough to sit on the toilet seats. I'd definitely say tidy. Despite the floor being a little dirty, the rest of the potty was unsoiled and smelled like normal air.

Matsu
The spicy white tuna rolls hit the spot. The fish tasted fresh and happy. The downside is that the "special rolls" are not included in the "all you can eat" special, but I have to say the plain ol fish was just right - so it didn't really matter. A bottle of sake or a beer (per person) was also included in the meal. I had the Jolly Roll on the side. Fantastic. It's photographed here (the shape of the smiley face). Made with Soybean Seaweed, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. Sweet sauce drizzled over the top...mmm.
And the part we've all been waiting for - the bathrooms. Well, my theory so far is correct...there is a correlation between the sushi and bathroom cleanliness. So what do you think I'd rate Matsu's bathroom after reading my review? Well it wasn't the Four Seasons, but if you guessed an 8 out of 10, you are correct. It was quite clean and didn't have any stale urine smell lingering. I actually used the restroom twice.

In addition to the myriad special roll options, there is this extra-special roll you must try. It's called the Mango Deluxe Roll and it's included in the AYCE special. Soooo good. It had mango, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. A great big mouthful of yum. I wouldn't eat it off the bathroom floor but the bathrooms actually weren't too bad. There were two - one for men and one for women. Oddly, there were instructions on the wall that explained the hand-washing process in Greek. Perhaps the place was once occupied by some Greeks, but regardless, how many people spoke or speak Greek in Murray Hill? Anyways, bathrooms get a 5.7 out of 10. The atmosphere was very mellow and pretty basic...the service was good. We really liked our nice waitress - she brought the food fairly quickly. When were leaving, the entire staff said "goodbye" and "thanks" which was just so nice.

This is the place to go for a fun, energetic night out. The dine in "all you can eat" AND drink in 2 hours is a fantastic deal. You can choose between unlimited sake or beer, depending on your mood, to complement your unlimited pieces of delicious sushi. I would say this place gets pretty packed and wild, especially on a weekend night since it's not far from NYU. If you want to start your night out with a bang - start here. Great place for a birthday party too. As far as the bathroom sitch, I was there on a Friday night so there was always a five minute line. Originally I gave it 6 out of 10 but after I watched a young (drunk) couple walk out together with discombobulated clothing and hair, I reduced it to a 4.
